Host: Heritage Lab+. We’re an independent group with an interest in having conversations around architecture. Our website publishes articles on architecture, organises architecture tours, and architecture talks/events. It also organises specific programs for students, to support them through their education career through mentorship/support groups and competitions. â€‹

The sad reality is, architecture as a profession is not very profitable for most who participate. Jobs are hard won, far in between and highly competitive such that architects have to sell the value of their work for much less than it should be.

This talk will be a discussion within the architecture community to understand alternative ways to make their profession profitable for them without compromising the integrity of their work. It will host architecture professionals with successful practices giving real life experiences of what has worked for them and what hasn’t; giving tips and advice for what could work better from their observations, how to run a firm so that its profitable, getting and managing clients etc.

In the spirit of acknowledging the current trend of entrepreneurship, the talk will also include a session on how to establish oneself as a brand in social media. This should bring the entire event full circle, providing actionable tips one can take to gain visibility and be on their way to becoming a profitable well-engaged architecture professional.
